World Premiere of Album „Juliusz Łuciuk. Vesperae in Assumptione Beatae Mariae Virginis”

DUXThe fifth album in the "Anthology of Polish works a cappella" series recorded by Janusz Siadlak and the Collegium Cantorum Choir of the Częstochowa Philharmonic is a tribute to Juliusz Łuciuk on the first anniversary of his death. The world phonographic premiere of his work Vesperae in Assumptione Beatae Mariae Virginis will be held on 15 October 2021. The album was released by DUX Recording Producers in cooperation with the Institute for Art Development.

The first album in the "Anthology of Polish works a cappella" series was devoted to Juliusz Łuciuk – three years later Janusz Siadlak and his ensemble returned to the work of the composer from Częstochowa and Kraków, paying him tribute on the first anniversary of his death. This time the Collegium Cantorum Choir of the Częstochowa Philharmonic and maestro Janusz Siadlak reached for a work unique on an international scale – Vesperae in Assumptione Beatae Mariae Virginis. The composition was written in 1987-89 in the version for male choir, and from 2005 comes the version for mixed choir (with choral antiphons in the original version). Vesperae in Assumptione Beatae Mariae Virginis are a great showcase of Juliusz Łuciuk's talent. The piece represents what the composer loved the most in his work – the tradition of faith. The use of choral quotes, the calm emanating from each movement, as well as the mystical aura of the Middle Ages create a complete and coherent work.

The concert premiere of the album will take place on 21 October 2021 at 7.00 p.m. at the Częstochowa Philharmonic.

The album is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport as part of the "Musical Trace" programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance. The partners are the ZAiKS Authors' Association, the Regional Cultural Centre in Częstochowa and the Częstochowa Philharmonic.

All the albums from "Anthology" series were released under the patronage of the Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.
