World premiere of Wojciech Ziemowit Zych's "Concerto" at the Gorzów Philharmonic

The Gorzów Philharmonic invites lovers of spectacular symphonic sounds to the world premiere of Concerto for Two Accordions, String Orchestra, and Electronics by Wojciech Ziemowit Zych, on February 7, 2025, at 19:00.

Given the artist's previous work, we can expect a truly exciting touch of the mystery of sound. Dr. Wojciech Ziemowit Zych is a professor at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music, where he leads the composition class. From 2006 to 2008, he was a member of the Repertoire Committee of the International Festival of Contemporary Music "Warsaw Autumn." In 2017, he received the Annual Award from the Polish Composers' Union (ZKP) "for his serious and responsible compositional approach and a body of work distinguished by an individual character, especially manifested in his Third Symphony. His latest piece was created as part of the "Composer Commissions" program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

The concert will be premiered by the Gorzów Philharmonic Orchestra and duoAccosphere, conducted by Jacek Rogala.

In the artists' interpretation, we will also hear Richard Strauss's Serenade in E-flat major and Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8.
