The final selection for the YMFE-Scholarship Competition in the "string instruments" category will be held on February 8, 2016 in the Stefan Stuligrosz Hall at the Academy of Music in Poznań (10.00 am-12.30 pm and 1.30-3.45 pm). The results will be announced at 5.00 pm, while the laureates’ concert will begin at 6.00 pm.

Presentations of the pre-selected candidates will be evaluated by the jury:
Prof. Łukasz Błaszczyk (Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź)
Prof. Mariusz Derewecki (Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań)
Prof. Zdzisław Łapiński (Academy of Music in Krakow)
Prof. Piotr Reichert (Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw)
Prof. Leszek Sokołowski (Białystok Campus of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw).

The Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe (YMFE) is a European non-profit making charity that – above all – is dedicated to supporting talented music students in Europe. Since 1990, YMFE has awarded scholarships worth more than 1 million EUR to over 900 outstanding young musicians all over Europe in various disciplines including brass and/or woodwind, piano, strings, percussion and vocal.

The YMFE-Scholarship Competition is open to full-time music students of any nationality not older than 25 years at the time of the application. Each Scholarship has a value of 1.000,00 EUR to 2.000,00 EUR, depending on the country where the applicant is studying. The Scholarship covers one year and the money may be used for any purpose related to the advancement of studies. The basis for this evaluation is an initial round from a recorded performance, followed by a live performance at the final selection. Selection Committees comprising senior figures from the world of music will select the most suitable applicants.
