Katowice | Musical theatre 'Mała' by Piotr Tabakiernik: premiere performance

NOSPR 15 10 23Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC

Notes of the beatified Jacques Fesch, who experienced conversion in a prison cell, and saint Teresa Martin, a Discalced Carmelite nun, became the basis for the musical theater Mała by Piotr Tabakiernik. The premiere of the work will take place at NOSPR on the 15th of October, 2023 at 6 p.m.

The composer wrote the libretto himself after reading a huge number of texts in which he tried to show the relationship between the criminal and the Saint. Even though almost everything divides them, they have something supernatural in common. Fesch himself pointed to the presence of saint Teresa on the path of his conversion.

Their roles will be played by actors Bartosz Mazur and Małgorzata Mikołajczak, who, as if as musical shadows, are accompanied by a soprano and a trombone. The soprano Łucja Szablewska will perform as a soloist. The whole event will be accompanied by the New Music Orchestra and soloists of Camerata Silesia, conducted by Szymon Bywalec.
