10th "Corno" – Brass Music Festival in Zielona Góra

Information about the event | Zielona Góra | 02 August 2026

From August 2–8, 2026, Zielona Góra will once again become the capital of brass music. The anniversary edition of the "Corno" Brass Music Festival features a week of concerts, workshops, instrument exhibitions, meetings with outstanding artists from around the world, and a fanfare battle, culminating in the premiere performance of pieces composed for the festival by Czesław Grabowski.

The festival will showcase the French horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba—in both solo and ensemble settings. Audiences will hear performances by the Zielona Góra Philharmonic Orchestra, a film music concert, and the Corno Brass Ensemble led by Japanese-American trumpeter Eric Miyashiro.

Nearly 80 participants from over 20 countries will take part in the international workshops. The sessions will be hosted by a 22-member faculty composed of acclaimed artists and educators from institutions such as the Royal College of Music in London, the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin and Rostock, the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, as well as leading Polish academies of music.

For a decade, the festival has remained Poland's main event dedicated to brass music. "Corno" was initiated by Łukasz Łacny and Maciej Baranowski, alumni of the State Music School in Zielona Góra. Their passion, experience, and international connections bring the world's finest musicians to their hometown every year.

Diverse concerts featuring these artists have been scheduled: "Chamber Winds," "The Greatest Film Music Hits," "Symphony of Splendor," and "Brass Celebration".

Polish music and world premieres will also be presented. On August 8 at 4.00 pm, the final of the "Fanfare Battle" will take place at Plac Teatralny: workshop participants will premiere the festival fanfares composed by a legend of the Zielona Góra Philharmonic—its long-time director, Czesław Grabowski.
