On May 6–7, 2025, the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław will host the 11th Student Research Conference ‘Sound Ambiguity’.
From its very beginnings, ‘Sound Ambiguity’ has been oriented towards interdisciplinarity, enabling the conference to cover a wide range of research topics related to sound and musical creativity. The main theme of the 2025 edition is ‘Generational Perspectives in Music’. The conference is aimed at students, doctoral candidates, and graduates of music theory, musicology, and other disciplines related to the event's topics.
With this focus, the organizers aim to explore issues concerning the identity of creators and recipients of musical works, changes in the soundscape across generations, and the understanding of sound and music throughout different eras.
Additionally, a discussion panel titled ‘Which Way Forward?’ will be held, involving artists representing various generations and artistic interests, addressing contemporary dilemmas in compositional creativity.
The event will also feature Composers' Concerts presenting works by young composers from Wrocław, with performances by conductors, instrumentalists, and singers - students of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music.
The conference is part of the project ‘Quo vadis, musica? – Between Mission and Duty in the Context of the Third Millennium’, co- -financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage through the Culture Promotion Fund.
