12th International Festival of Contemporary Music "Nowa Muzyka": Autumn Edition

The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Branch of the Polish Composers' Union in Bydgoszcz has prepared a rich and engaging program for the Autumn Edition of the 12th International Festival of Contemporary Music "Nowa Muzyka na Jesień". The festival will feature three concerts of Polish music, taking place from November 16 to November 30, 2024, in Inowrocław and Bydgoszcz. Admission is free!

The festival will begin with the opening concert on November 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the Irena Dubiska Concert Hall in Inowrocław. The concert will feature works for woodwind quintet by Magdalena Cynk, Szymon Godziemba-Trytek, Natalia Kaszubska, and Bohdan Riemer, performed by the Woodwind Quintet of the Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra in Bydgoszcz. The program will include the quintet "B.A.J.K.A."

On November 17, 2024, music for string, wind, and keyboard instruments will be performed, featuring works by Szymon Godziemba-Trytek, Aleksandra Brejza, Magdalena Cynk, Piotr A. Komorowski, Marcin Kopczyński, Artur Banaszkiewicz, and Sławomir Czarnecki.

The Autumn Edition will conclude with the "In the Circle of Song" concert on November 30, 2024, at 5:00 PM at the Copernicanum Hall at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz. This concert will feature the world premiere of Michał Kawecki's "Pieśni na sopran i fortepian" to the words of Isobel Lane. Additionally, songs by Marcin Kopczyński, Aleksandra Brejza, and Rafał Gorzycki will be performed.

The concerts will be led by Piotr Komorowski, President of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Branch of the Polish Composers' Union, and Anna Szarapka.
