The 13th International Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Days“The Songs Sing” will once again open a space for world premieres at the Silesian Philharmonic from 14 November to 14 December 2025.
At the inauguration concert on 14 November, the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yaroslav Shemet will present Three Symphonic Dances by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, as well as works by Richard Strauss and Antonín Dvořák. Oboist Paulina Sochaj will appear as the soloist.
On 15 November, the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Yaroslav Shemet will perform at the Opole Philharmonic during a concert held as part of both the 13th International Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Days and the 7th International Festival of Central and Eastern European Music “Eufonie”. The evening’s programme has been arranged so that the ideas of both festivals intermingle in a musical dialogue—from the energetic Three Dances by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, through the reflective Eternal Songs by Mieczysław Karłowicz, to one of the most famous symphonies in history—Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”.
On 28 November, Zbigniew Bargielski’s Double Concerto for Two Clarinets and String Orchestra will be presented for the first time, performed by Jean-Marc Fessard, Roman Widaszek, and the Silesian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Piotr Pławner.
On 5 December, the premiere of Marcel Chyrzyński’s work Ukiyo-e No. 7 – Concerto for Piano and Symphony Orchestra will take place, featuring Kateryna Titova as the soloist and accompanied by the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Yaroslav Shemet.
These works were created as part of the “Composer Commissions” programme carried out by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund—a state special-purpose fund—under the “Music” programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
