The Palace of Zagłębie Culture invites you to participate in the 15th Michał Spisak International Music Competition, which will take place from October 1–10, 2025, in the disciplines of violin, viola, and cello. The application deadline is July 15.
This international music competition, named after the composer from Dąbrowa Górnicza, is addressed to young instrumentalists from around the world who were born after October 1, 1995. Participants will perform before an international jury, chaired in this 15th edition by Prof. Szymon Krzeszowiec.
The competition will open with an Inaugural Concert (October 1) performed by the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra under the baton of Joanna Natalia Ślusarczyk. The soloist of the concert will be Seina Matsuoka, a violinist and laureate of, among others, First Prize at the 2nd International Karol Szymanowski Music Competition (2022).
As per tradition, the competition will consist of three stages. During the public audition rounds, contemporary Polish music will be featured, including works by the Competition’s Patron. The Final Concert of the Laureates will take place on October 10, with the Zabrze Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sławomir Chrzanowski, during which the main prize winners will be announced. This orchestra will also accompany the finalists during the third stage of auditions held on the stage of the Palace of Zagłębie Culture.
The event is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund.
