"Symmetries" - this is the main theme of the 18th August Talent Festival, evoking the ideas of commensurability, key to expressing beauty, and the syncretism of arts. This year's concerts on August 20-31, 2024 will take place in the inspiring interiors of the Contemporary Art Gallery, Theater and Film Department of the Museum History of Katowice, the Academy of Fine Arts, the Silesian Branch of the Association of Polish Art Photographers, the Educational House of the Silesian Library and the "Katowice - City of Gardens" Gallery.
Thanks to interactive concerts, aesthetic experiences will become more personal. On August 27, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, listeners will be able to reflect their emotions in drawings created during a baroque music concert. On August 29, the artistic spectacle Lem in concert will be presented, with music by Tobias Hume, Richard Strauss, Karl Friedrich Abel, Wojciech Stępień, Wiktor Kołodziejczyk, enriched with elements of modern dance.
The culmination of the festival will be the performance of Poles qualified for the Mieczysław Wajnberg International Violin Competition in Katowice.
In this year's edition of the festival, the concerts will be preceded by curators’ tours of the exhibitions (their start is scheduled for a quarter of an hour before the musical events).
Admission to the concerts on August 20, 22, 24 and 31 is free.
