1st Marek Jasiński International Composition Competition in Stargard

The Opus Foundation in Szczecin and the Camerata Stargard Foundation organize the 1st Marek Jasiński International Composition Competition in Stargard. This initiative is an integral part of the 6th "Soni Spatium" International Festival dedicated to Prof. Marek Jasiński, which promotes the works of the Szczecin-based composer and choral music of the highest quality. The competition is open to composers of all nationalities with no age limit. The deadline for submitting scores is May 11, 2026.

The theme of the first edition of the competition is a work for mixed choir a cappella set to a sacred text. The winning piece will be premiered by the Prof. Jan Szyrocki Academic Choir of the West Pomeranian University of Technology during the final concert of the 6th "Soni Spatium" International Festival. The work should last between 2 and 4 minutes. The entry must be an original composition that has not been previously published, publicly performed, or awarded in other competitions. Each participant may submit a maximum of two compositions.

The winner will receive a Grand Prize in the amount of 10,000 PLN.

The high academic standard and prestige of the event are reflected in the composition of the Jury, which will be chaired by Prof. Paweł Łukaszewski, PhD. The jury panel will also include Szymon Godziemba-Trytek, PhD (Associate Professor at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz), and Szymon Wyrzykowski, PhD (Associate Professor at the Academy of Art in Szczecin / West Pomeranian University of Technology).

Scores must not be signed with the composer's name or surname.
