The Zagłębie Palace of Culture invites students of Polish primary and secondary music schools to participate in the 2nd Michał Spisak Youth Music Competition. The competition's format is inspired by the International Michał Spisak Music Competition—it is held every two years and features rotating instrumental categories. This edition is dedicated to trumpet, horn, and trombone players aged 13–19. The event will take place on October 5–7, 2026. The deadline for applications is August 31.
The competition is held as part of the 6th Michał Spisak International Festival and it aims at promoting talented students, presenting their artistic achievements, exchanging teaching experiences among music educators, and popularizing classical music.
The competition is addressed at the following age categories:
The auditions will consist of a single stage. Competition participants will perform two pieces of contrasting character (with piano accompaniment or solo), including one mandatory piece by a Polish composer.
Cash prizes may be awarded to finalists in each specialization—separately for each of the two age categories and instrumental specializations:
Regardless of the above-mentioned prizes, non-statutory prizes may also be awarded.
The Media Patronage of the Competition has been taken by the Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.
