To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Katowice City Singers’ Ensemble "Camerata Silesia", a special jubilee concert will take place on 11 September 2025 at 7:30 PM in the NOSPR concert hall. The ensemble will showcase its rich artistic legacy through a program of a cappella interpretations of classical and contemporary masterpieces.
The first part of the concert will feature instrumental works arranged for a cappella choir by Wojciech Barczyński, John Cameron, and Sabina Meck. This unique opportunity will allow the audience to experience how the music of Georges Bizet, Antonín Dvořák, Claude Debussy, and Edward Elgar can take on new life when interpreted through the human voice.
The second part of the evening will present Andrzej Jagodziński’s Requiem, a deeply personal work composed in memory of late members of the ensemble.
As a powerful finale, the choir will perform “Hallelujah” from George Frideric Handel’s oratorio Messiah – one of the most iconic pieces in music history – in a bold and vibrant arrangement for choir and jazz piano trio. This fresh interpretation will bring renewed energy to the beloved work and provide a spectacular and communal closing to the concert.
The 35th anniversary of Camerata Silesia at NOSPR reflects the ensemble’s unwavering commitment to artistic exploration and openness to new sonic experiences.
The concert will feature vocal soloists Agnieszka Wilczyńska and Wojciech Myrczek. Joining Camerata Silesia, under the direction of Anna Szostak, will be the Andrzej Jagodziński Trio.
