35th Podkarpacie Organ Festival – one of the oldest recurring musical events in Rzeszów and the Podkarpackie region – will take place from July 12 to August 17, 2025. During 12 organ recitals and chamber concerts, renowned European organists will perform in churches located in Rzeszów, Jarosław, Lutcza, Chmielnik, Sędziszów Małopolski, Kańczuga, and Ropczyce. Admission to all events is free!
After World War II, these lands were home to Józef Olech – bandmaster, trumpeter, and founder of brass bands that achieved nationwide success. On the 50th anniversary of his death, a concert held in the recently restored Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Kańczuga will be dedicated to his memory.
Organists from Poland, Italy, Germany, and – for the first time – Karsten Askeland from Norway will perform! The program also includes three chamber concerts, featuring trumpet, soprano, and violin in dialogue with the organ.
The repertoire will prominently feature Polish music. At the Festival’s opening, Andrzej Chorosiński will perform the Sequence by Marek Sawa; Roman Perucki (organ) and Maria Perucka (violin) will present Melody by Ignacy Jan Paderewski; and Józef Kotowicz’s recital will include the Elegy by Mieczysław Surzyński.
Prof. Marek Stefański, the Festival’s director, warmly invites everyone to join in a musical journey along the Festival’s trail.
