The 3rd edition of the Eugeniusz Towarnicki International Flute Competition for Students is organized by the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. Co-organizers include the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2025, via the official registration form.
The competition will take place from November 4 to 7, 2025, at the historic Karol Poznański Palace, home of the Academy in Łódź.
The competition is open to bachelor’s and master’s degree students of flute classes of all nationalities who will not have turned 25 by the start of the competition, as well as talented secondary school students who meet the competition's program requirements. Participants under the age of 18 may take part with written consent from their legal guardian.
Objectives of the Competition:
- To raise the standard of flute performance education
- To promote solo and chamber flute music, including contemporary works by Polish and international composers
- To enhance the artistic education in higher music institutions by encouraging the performance of solo and duo (flute and piano) repertoire
- To provide an overview of national and international teaching levels in higher music education
- To enable participants to compare their achievements
- To popularize the transverse flute by bringing together young flutists of various nationalities in a spirit of musical competition
- To identify the most talented young flutists
- To encourage exchange of performance experiences among participants
- To expand the solo flute repertoire
- To explore new forms of promoting Poland and affirming the flute as a musical emblem of the country

- 1st Prize – 5000 PLN
- 2nd Prize – 2500 PLN
- 3rd Prize – 1500 PLN
- Honorable Mentions – 1000 PLN
Master’s Degree Category:
- 1st Prize – 5000 PLN
- 2nd Prize – 2500 PLN
- 3rd Prize – 1500 PLN
