Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice, in collaboration with the ZAIKS Authors' Association, is organizing the 3rd International Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Composition Competition in 2024. The aim of the competition is to honor the legacy of the Philharmonic's Patron. The deadline for submissions is November 15, 2024.
The 2024/2025 season of the Silesian Philharmonic marks its 80th artistic season, and the 50th anniversary of the Silesian Philharmonic Choir. In recognition of these milestones, the competition focuses on composing a piece for a mixed a cappella choir*(maximum divisi SSAATTBB) with a duration of 7 to 10 minutes. The piece may be in Polish, English, or Latin.
The competition aims to promote young composers and expand the concert repertoire.
The jury will consist of composers: Eugeniusz Knapik, Miłosz Bembinow, Anna Maria Huszcza, Jarosław Wolanin, and Adam Wesołowski.
