The 3rd International Music Festival “On the Path to a New Harmony” will serve as an extension of the scientific and artistic conference initiated in 2007 as part of the activities of the Department of Woodwind Instruments and Accordion at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow. Between October 5 and 29, 2025, four concerts will be held in Cracow and Jastrzębie-Zdrój, featuring both classical masterpieces of chamber music and world premieres of the latest works by Polish and international composers.
For the first time, audiences will hear compositions by the seven laureates of the 1st Józef Świder Composition Competition, as well as Something else about grief, storms and the ways through it by Alicia González, Silbo by María Ramírez Sánchez, and Wiosna Bra by Sánch Pardo.
From its inception, the festival has been a meeting space for artists from different countries and creative backgrounds, combining tradition with contemporary means of expression. Its mission is to showcase a wide spectrum of contemporary compositional and performance practices, in close dialogue with the rich heritage of chamber music.
Outstanding European artists will perform, including lecturers from the Cracow Academy of Music. The event is organized by the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music Foundation in Cracow. Curators: Prof. Piotr Lato and Dr. Maciej Zimka.
The event is held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Michał Urgoł.
