The Department of Composition at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow organizes the 3rd Józef Patkowski Composition Competition. The deadline for submissions is March 16, 2025.
The Competition is addressed to students and graduates of music academies in Poland, born between 1.01.1995 and 31.12.2006.
The subject of the Competition is an electronic composition, realized entirely on the basis of the material prepared by the Organizer (piano samples).
The duration of the composition: 8 to 10 minutes.
The main prize is PLN 6,000.
The competition will be held in two stages:
- Stage I: The Competition Jury will select no more than six compositions qualified for Stage II by September 30, 2025,
- Stage II: The compositions qualified in Stage I will be publicly presented in the presence of the Competition Jury at a Concert in October 2025, at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow. Immediately after the Stage II Concert, the Jury will announce the results, along with making public the names of the Competition Laureate and Stage II participants (finalists).
The Final Concert, selection of the Laureate, presentation of the prize and diplomas will be held in October 2025.
