3rd “Muziko de nia tempo” Festival – Music of Our Time in Podlasie

Information about the event | Białystok | 17 August 2025

Białystok and its surroundings will once again become the setting for an extraordinary musical journey under the motto in Esperanto. The Armonia dell’arte Foundation invites you from August 17 to December 13, 2025, to the third edition of the “Muziko de nia tempo” Festival, which combines contemporary music with the rich multicultural heritage of the region. Admission to the concerts is free!

Podlasie has long been a land of cultural, religious, and linguistic diffusion. The festival pays tribute to this diversity by presenting concerts inspired by Poland’s historical heritage—and this year, also by music rooted in Jewish tradition. Accordion music will hold a special place in the concert repertoire.

Audiences can expect five unique programs featuring outstanding Polish and international musicians, presented with modern audiovisual and lighting design. Performers will include guitarist Łukasz Kuropaczewski, accordionists Maciej Frąckiewicz, Maciej Zimka, double bassist Jacek Karwan, and the West-East Quintet.

The festival program will feature several world premieres. The piece Eight Winds by Li Yun will be performed for the first time on August 30. On November 2, Lato (Summer) by Przemysław Scheller—part of the Four Seasons cycle for accordion and electronics—will receive its premiere. The work was commissioned as part of the “Composers’ Commissions” program, carried out by NIMiT (National Institute of Music and Dance).

The artistic director of the festival is Maciej Frąckiewicz, a native of Białystok.

The festival is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund—a state special-purpose fund—under the “Music” and “Composers’ Commissions” programs implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance, and with support from the Department of Culture of the Białystok City Hall.

Festival partners: Link Visuals, Podlasie Museum in Białystok, Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, Akademia Supraska, Oikonomos Foundation, Borderland Foundation, and Bocian Clinic.
