Our patronages
During the 40th Warsaw Music Encounters, held from May 18 to 26, 2026, the audience will witness the world premieres of works by Ryszard Borowski, Julia Marczuk, Filip Matuszewski, Tomasz Radziwonowicz, Jarosław Siwiński, Mateusz Śmigasiewicz, and Marek Toporowski. The programme also features early music workshops for children and a scholarly session. Admission is free!
Performers: Camerata Vistula with soloist Anna Wróbel (celebrating the ensemble's 40th anniversary); Łukasz Długosz, Marek Toporowski, Ensemble Via Nova, Julian Paprocki, Mateusz Stankiewicz, Kwartludium Ensemble, Jadwiga Kotnowska, Mariusz Mocarski, Mateusz Smoczyński, and Sinfonia Viva conducted by Tomasz Radziwonowicz.
The festival will primarily feature compositions written in Warsaw in recent years, as well as unjustly forgotten and rediscovered works from past eras—all performed to the highest artistic standards. The events of the 40th Warsaw Music Encounters will take place at the Royal Theatre – Old Orangery at the Royal Łazienki Park, PROM Kultury Saska Kępa, the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio, and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
The early music concert and workshops for children, titled "Instruments with a Soul", will be led by Anna Śliwa and Lilianna Stawarz.
Furthermore, the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music will host a special session of the Music Theory Laboratory, featuring lectures and presentations by the university's staff and students, as well as a panel discussion centred on the Festival's anniversary edition (prepared by Aleksandra Bilińska, PhD and Iwona Świdnicka, PhD).
The listeners of Polish Radio’s Programme 2 will have the opportunity to listen to broadcasts of selected concerts. The Festival is organized by the Warsaw branch of the Polish Composers' Union, and co-funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and the City of Warsaw.
