4th "Opera in the Palace" in Otwock

Information about the event | Warszawa | 26 July 2025

Two events will take place promoting opera music at the Museum of Interiors in Otwock Wielki, formerly the Bieliński Palace as part of the 4th edition of the “Opera in the Palace” series:

  • “Paderewski” – July 26, 2025
  • “Opera in the Baroque” – September 7, 2025

Admission is free, but the number of places is limited – entry passes are required.

Thanks to the Rozgłos Association, opera will be brought from the grand stage into the intimate setting of the historic palace. “A key goal of our project is to expand access to cultural offerings for communities with limited access to opera houses and philharmonic halls,” emphasizes Ewelina Sielska-Badurek, president of the association.

The July 26 event will begin at 5:00 PM with a guided tour of the exhibition “Paderewski’s Gift” – all of Ignacy Jan Paderewski’s memorabilia, art collection, and personal belongings were bequeathed to the National Museum in Warsaw, of which the Museum of Interiors is a branch. After the tour, Dr. Anna Feliks will give a lecture titled “The Paderewski House” about the composer’s villa in Riond-Bosson, Switzerland. The evening will culminate in a performance of a vocal-instrumental work based on the music of Paderewski, arranged by Marcin Piotr Łopacki. Performers include actors from Teatr Akt, the Ensemblage Orchestra conducted by Łopacki, and soloists Ewelina Sielska-Badurek and Zdzisław Madej.

On Sunday, September 7, the focus will shift to Baroque opera. At 2:00 PM, family-friendly workshops titled “Paper Wonders” will be led by Justyna Grabowska and Ewa Krawczyk, teaching participants to create works of art from handmade paper – a material also used during the Baroque era.
At 4:30 PM, Dr. Anna Feliks will present the lecture “Ladies of Otwock Wielki”, about the women connected with the 300-year history of the Bieliński Palace, which dates back to the Baroque period.

At 5:00 PM, the “Baroque Opera Gala” will begin. Hanna Zajączkiewicz, Ewelina Sielska-Badurek, and the early music ensemble La Tempesta, conducted by Jakub Burzyński, will perform works by Claudio Monteverdi, Benedetto Ferrari, and Mikołaj Zieleński.
