The National Institute of Music and Dance has launched preparations for the 6th edition of the Polish Music Convention – a recurring event dedicated to the condition of Polish music and its future directions. Before the detailed program is announced, the organizers invite the public to submit proposals for topics and issues that should be at the heart of this year’s discussions. The deadline for submissions is May 8, 2026.
The Polish Music Convention is a recurring event held since 2011, bringing together representatives from the broad music community in Poland, including composers, performers, musicologists, journalists, and critics, as well as representatives of cultural institutions and NGOs. Over several days, participants collectively diagnose the state of Polish music, examining the conditions under which it is created, its presence in the public sphere, and the challenges it faces.
The conclusions and proposals developed during successive editions serve as an important point of reference for the programming decisions of cultural institutions and for shaping policies in this field.
Programming work is currently underway. Anyone interested in Polish music is invited to submit a topic they believe should be addressed during the Convention—whether it is a subject for discussion, a problem to be diagnosed, a question worth raising publicly, or a proposal for a fresh perspective within an already well-known area.
The Polish Music Convention is organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance and funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
To ensure that this year’s event best addresses the current priorities of the music community, the organizers have launched open consultations via form, available at:
