As part of the 8th Festival of Organ and Chamber Music in Grudziądz, four concerts are planned, which will take place on August 11 and 25, 2024 in the church of St. M.M. Kolbe, September 1 in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. and on September 15 in the Basilica of St. Nicholas Bishop.
The performing artists are awarded at international competitions, giving concerts in Poland and abroad, as well as young talented musicians.
This year's Festival will be inaugurated by a famous violinist, member of the Neoquartet ensemble - Karolina Piątkowska-Nowicka, and the director of the Festival, professor of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk - Hanna Dys, will play the organ. They will present works of French baroque, German romantic music and works by Polish contemporary composers (Woś, Janca).
The idea of the Festival is to present various instruments solo and in duet with the organ. On August 25, the audience in Grudziądz will hear in the excellent acoustics of the church of St. M.M. Kolbe guitarist Monika Dżuła-Radkiewicz, assistant professor at the Gdańsk Academy of Music. The second part of the concert will be filled with organ music performed by an excellent organist and harpsichordist - Urszula Jasiecka-Bura. The concert program will include works by Spanish, Polish and German composers of various eras.
The Resonance Brass quintet will perform in the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross - musicians associated with the Wrocław Opera will present works from the Renaissance to the music of the 19th century, and will perform some of the works with a young organist from Warsaw, winner of many international competitions - Mateusz Rzewuski.
The festival's closing concert will feature vocal and organ music interpreted by mezzo-soprano Zuzanna Klemańska and the Norwegian ensemble Kongsberg Kantori under the direction of Matthias Anger who will also perform as the organist. Their concert program will include, among others: songs inspired by Norwegian folk music.
