9th Cracow Music Salon: Romantic and Contemporary Music

Information about the event | Kraków | 06 September 2025

The Polish Chamber Musicians’ Association invites you to the 9th edition of the “Cracow Music Salon” Festival, taking place from September 6 to October 1, 2025, in unique venues: the Fontana Hall at the Museum of Cracow and intimate private salons on Studencka and Garncarska streets. Through music, we’ll be transported to the 19th-century salon tradition, but this year’s edition will also include music of our time. Admission to all concerts is free!

This is the only festival of its kind in Poland, reviving the tradition of domestic music-making and showcasing rarely performed chamber music works.

This year’s performers include renowned artists such as Katarzyna Budnik, Elżbieta Stefańska, Marta Gidaszewska, Robert Łaguniak, Grzegorz Mania, Bartosz Koziak, Bartłomiej Wezner, Hanna Hipp, as well as international guests Charles Owen, Katya Apekisheva, Miranda Liu, Daniel Rumler, and Tomáš Krejbich.

The program spans from the works of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, through Polish masters such as Żeleński, Noskowski, and Stojowski, to 20th-century composers including Weinberg, Laks, Lutosławski, and Henryk Wars, a pioneer of Polish jazz.

A special highlight will be the world premiere of a newly commissioned work, created as part of the SPMK-ZAiKS Composer-in-Residence Program.

Funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund under the "Music" program, carried out by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
The project is also supported by the Małopolska Region.

The premiere on September 29 is made possible thanks to the Composer-in-Residence Program, organized by the Polish Chamber Musicians’ Association in collaboration with the ZAiKS Authors’ Association.
