Hashtag Lab invites families with children aged 0–7 to two performative concerts of new music on October 25, 2025, at 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM. The October concerts are inspired by the bestselling children’s book The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers.
Both instruments and crayons have their own distinct shapes, colors, and roles. But what might they dream of? Could they ever change their purpose?
Together with the audience, Hashtag Ensemble will explore new roles for musical instruments, performing wonderful music by Béla Bartók, Eddy Flecijn, and the beloved Polish classic Kolorowe kredki (Colorful Crayons) by Wiera Badalska and Marian Sawa.
The colorful crayons will make a special appearance too! They’ll draw green suns, pink clarinets, and maybe even flying rabbits – anything that young listeners hear in the music and imagine through sound.
