The Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio will host an experimental and innovative chamber concert entitled AutoPianoForte on December 8, 2016.
The concert will put the spotlight on the autonomic piano - an instrument whose sound is produced without a pianist. Unlike synthesizer, the mechanism of sound production remains the same of an acoustic piano, however, it might be controlled by a computer.
The programme includes works for autonomic piano (Yamaha Disklavier DC2X ENST) and soprano, clarinet, gongs, singing bowls, double bass and string quartet written by Jarosław Siwiński, Ryszard Osada, Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska, Michał Górczyński, Alicja Gronau, Jerzy Kornowicz and Krzesimir Dębski, and performed by Joanna Freszel (soprano), Michał Górczyński (bass clarinet), Trillingen Duo (Iwona Jędruch - gongs/singing bowls and Małgorzata Kołcz - double bass), and Opium String Quartet.
The concert will be preceded by meetings enabling the audience to get acquainted with the unusual instrument - AutoPianoForte Open 1 at 10.00 am and AutoPianoForte Open 2 at 6.00 pm.
Admission free.
