Beata Bilińska with the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra

Information about the event | Katowice | 15 May 2026

On May 15, 2026 at 7.00 pm, the Silesian Philharmonic will host a program combining Ludwig van Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 7 and exceptionally vibrant works by Polish composers: Zygmunt Noskowski’s The Steppe and Józef Wieniawski’s Piano Concerto in G minor, Op. 20. The Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will be led by Robertas Šervenikas—a conductor acclaimed for his expressive and emotive interpretations—with the solo part performed by the brilliant pianist Beata Bilińska.

Some concerts offer a unique opportunity to discover lesser-known masterpieces and view familiar works from a fresh perspective. Such is the case for the evening of May 15, featuring Józef Wieniawski’s Piano Concerto in G minor, Op. 20. It will be interpreted by Beata Bilińska, whose recordings have received numerous awards, particularly for her exceptional performances of works by Polish composers. This rarely performed concerto is considered by Polish pianists to be a true gem of piano music.

The evening will also feature Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92. Filled with joyful energy, the work was famously named the "apotheosis of the dance" by Richard Wagner.
