Carnival Concert at the Silesian Philharmonic: Grand Choruses and Overtures

The Choir and Symphony Orchestra of the Silesian Philharmonic, conducted by Radosław Droń, invite you to a unique Carnival concert filled with the most beautiful choruses and overtures from operas by Stanisław Moniuszko, Józef Świder, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Ruggero Leoncavallo, and Gioachino Rossini. The concert will take place on January 31, 2025, at 7:00 PM.

These famous works will offer an opportunity for emotional moments and admiration of the diversity and beauty of opera music by Italian and Polish composers. The evening will begin with the Overture to the opera Halka by Stanisław Moniuszko. The dramatic chorus Po nieszporach from the same opera will also be performed. As part of this anniversary season, under the theme "Hear Silesia”, the artists will also perform the Chór łuczników from the opera Magnus by the Silesian composer Józef Świder.

It will be an evening full of great emotions and unforgettable stories—a perfect recipe for Carnival!

The concert is co-organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance as part of the "Musician in Residence" program, funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
