'Choir-master': premiere performances of works by Piotr Pudełko and Karola Pyka

The next concert in the series 'Choir-master' at the Silesian Philharmonic will take place on 6 April 2025 at 6 p.m. Together with the Silesian Philharmonic Choir, the Choir of the Singing Society 'Lutnia' from Strumień will perform. The artists will premiere Silesiana Artis II by Piotr Pudełko and Psalm by Karol Pyka - a work awarded in the composition competition held as part of the 'Legnica Cantat' festival in 2024.

The Choir of the "Lutnia" Singing Society from Strumień, conducted by Nina Polczyk-Nowak, will also perform Michael John Trott's Lux Aeterna and Edward Elgar's Death on the hills

The Silesian Philharmonic Choir, conducted by Jarosław Wolanin, and organist Adam Eibin will perform a programme full of intellectual depth and artistic innovation, including works by Lorenzo Donati and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Together, the choirs, conducted by Jarosław Wolanin, will present two songs from Henryk Mikołaj Górecki's cycle From Church Songs: Cross of Christ and Jesus Christ, Dear Lord.

The world premiere of Silesiana Artis II for mixed choir and organ by the young generation Silesian composer Piotr Pudełko will sound at the end of the concert. It is a musical tribute to all the victims of the Upper Silesian Tragedy. The composer used his own texts in the verbal layer

The piece Silesiana Artis II was created with the support of the ZAiKS Fund for the Promotion of Creativity.

At 4 p.m., there will be a workshop on 'Proper singing breathing as the basis for beautiful and healthy sound', led by Professor E. Grodzka-Łopuszyńska.
