The interior of the former Benedictine abbey in Płock will host a series of concerts entitled "Chopiniana" organized by the Mazovia Institute of Culture, held on September 2-4 and 9-11, 2016.
The form of etude will be the event’s major programme focus. The examples of this musical genre written by Fryderyk Chopin, Claude Debussy, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Franz Liszt, Karol Szymanowski, Maria Szymanowska, Ferdinand Hiller, Johann Baptist Cramer, Carl Czerny, and Muzio Clementi will be presented by such pianists as Tobias Koch, Katarzyna Drogosz, Szymon Nehring, Grzegorz Skrobiński, Piotr Kosiński, and Maciej Skrzeczkowski. Additionally, violinist Janusz Wawrowski will interpret caprices by Niccolò Paganini, Roman Maciejewski and Karol Szymanowski. The piano repertoire will be performed on contemporary instruments, as well as on period pianos and virginals.
