A remarkable evening of choral music will be led by world-renowned conductor Georg Grün on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Silesian Philharmonic. He will be joined by Jarosław Wolanin, responsible for preparing the Philharmonic Choir. The concert, part of the “Chór-Mistrzowsko” (Masterfully Choral) series, will feature sacred music from various eras, with organist Adam Eibin also taking part.
Earlier that day, at 4:00 p.m., Professor Georg Grün will lead a workshop titled “Shaping the Beautiful Sound of a Choir.”
The Choir will perform Pater noster by Edward Bogusławski, a work that, through its rich harmonies, conveys the profound meaning and moral message of Christianity’s most well-known prayer.
The program will also include Fürchte dich nicht, BWV 228 by Johann Sebastian Bach – one of the most beautiful motets by this Baroque master; Warum ist das Licht gegeben, Op. 74 No. 1 by Johannes Brahms; and the hymn Jauchzet dem Herrn, Op. 69 No. 2 by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
The concert will conclude with Psaume 150 by César Franck, a triumphant work arranged for choir and organ.
