Thanks to the "Classics Across Poland" project organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance, the Kobus/Hanus Duo will perform in August 2026 in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The concerts will take place on August 6 at 8.30 pm at the Ińsko Fishery Centre by Lake Ińsko, on August 7 at 7.30 pm at the Municipal Stadium in Węgorzyno, and on August 8 at 5.00 pm at the Cultural Centre in Dobra.
Aleksander Kobus is one of the most decorated trumpet players on the Polish music scene. He became the first Polish brass player to win an award at the prestigious 67th ARD International Music Competition in Munich. This year, he was awarded the degree of habilitated doctor at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław where he leads the trumpet class. He also serves as the principal trumpet player of the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic. His wife, Monika Hanus-Kobus (PhD), as a chamber pianist, has also received numerous awards at chamber music competitions. She has served as an accompanist at many prestigious international competitions, including the ARD Competition in Munich, the Prague Spring International Music Competition in the Czech Republic, and the Jeju Brass Competition in South Korea. She has collaborated with many outstanding artists, including Gábor Tarkövi, Gábor Varga, Pierre Génisson, and Vítor Fernandes.
During the August concerts, the artists will perform Concerto in modo antico by Andrzej Panufnik; Bolero, Barcarolle, Tarantella, and Spanish Dance by Mirosław Gąsieniec; Melody by Borys Lomani; Cavatina by Karol Kurpiński, as well as works by George Frideric Handel and Carl Höhne.
