Winners of the International Polish Music Competition, the Polish Violin Duo – Marta Gidaszewska and Robert Łaguniak – will perform as part of the "Classics Across Poland" concert series, organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance in the Podlaskie Region from July 9 to 11, 2026. Admission is free, however invitations are required.
The duo has won nearly 200 awards at national and international competitions, including first prizes in Rzeszów (Stanisław Moniuszko International Polish Music Competition) and Düsseldorf (International Chamber Music Competition). Promoting Polish music is a special focus of the violinists who dedicate a significant part of their discography to it. They also eagerly perform international repertoire, and their latest album, Interweave, festuring the works of Czech and Hungarian composers, earned them a nomination for the 2026 Fryderyk Award.
During their July concerts, the artists will present a repertoire for two violins that combines 20th- and 21st-century Polish and Hungarian music, guiding listeners through the diverse styles and musical inspirations of Central Europe. The program will include Romuald Twardowski's Sonatina and Polish Fantasy for two violins.
The concerts will be held on July 9 at the Hall of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Center in Wąsosz, on July 10 at the Municipal Cultural Center in Goniądz, and on July 11 at the Municipal Cultural and Sports Center in Stawiski.
