The “Classics Without Borders” Festival is currently underway at the Zielona Góra Philharmonic, and on April 25, 2025, at 7:00 PM, it will feature the symphonic concert “Prelude to Summer.” The evening’s soloists will be recognized flutist Łukasz Długosz and young violinist Łucja Pych – winner of the 44th Bach Competition. The Zielona Góra Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Daniel Mieczkowski.
The program includes Łukasz Długosz’s own arrangement of Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons for flute, harpsichord, and orchestra. Also featured will be Camille Saint-Saëns’ Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso for violin and orchestra, and the overture to Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti.
The evening will conclude with Sinfonietta No. 1, Op. 41 by Mieczysław Weinberg – a neoclassical work with clear influences from composers such as Béla Bartók and Sergei Prokofiev.
The concerts of the “Classics Without Borders” Festival are held under the Honorary Patronage of the Marshal of the Lubusz Voivodeship, Marcin Jabłoński.
