Renowned pianist Paweł Kowalski will perform as the soloist in the concert "The Sound of History – from Legends to Epics" on April 30, 2025, at 7:00 PM, as part of the "Classics Without Borders" Festival organized by the Zielona Góra Philharmonic. He will be accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Philharmonic, conducted by Czesław Grabowski. The program will feature works by Mozart, Kilar, and Rossini.
The concert will open with the Overture to William Tell by Gioachino Rossini – the final opera composed by the Italian master.
Paweł Kowalski will perform one of the masterpieces of piano literature – Piano Concerto in A major No. 23, KV 488 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The evening will conclude with the symphonic suite by Wojciech Kilar from the film Pan Tadeusz – a cinematic adaptation of the epic poem by Adam Mickiewicz, one of the most significant works in Polish literature. The ten-movement suite ends with the famous Polonaise, whose popularity is rivaled only by the renowned Polonaise Farewell to the Fatherland.
The concerts of the "Classics Without Borders" festival are held under the Honorary Patronage of the Marshal of the Lubusz Voivodeship, Marcin Jabłoński.
