Competition for a musical project related to the theme of the 60th Andrzej Markowski International Wratislavia Cantans Festival "Paradise Lost [?]"

What does "Paradise Lost" sound like? The Witold Lutoslawski National Forum of Music in Wroclaw announces a competition for a musical project related to the theme of the 60th Andrzej Markowski International Wratislavia Cantans Festival, which this year will be "Paradise Lost [?]". Chamber music ensembles - winners of the Competition - will take part in the anniversary edition of the Festival and receive an honorarium! The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2025.

Chamber music ensembles of three to eight people, with an average age of no more than thirty-two and the oldest participant being no more than forty years old, active in the field of classical music (from early music to contemporary music) and having at least one vocal line in their composition, will compete.

The application must include: the biography and composition of the ensemble with dates of birth of each artist, artistic biographies of the ensemble members, a proposed concert program related to the theme of the Festival, not exceeding forty-five minutes of music, and a link to the current recording of the ensemble in audio-video format. On the recording, repertoire other than that submitted in the competition program is required.

The competition will be resolved by March 31.

A prize will be awarded to the selected ensembles: each of them will perform at four festival concerts: September 13 in Wroclaw and September 10, 11 and 12 in other cities of Lower Silesia indicated by the NFM.
