Composition Competition as part of the 4th "ArteFonie" Festival

Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC.

The Art’n’Voices Vocal Ensemble and the Association of Young Artists of the Wejherowo Region are honored to invite you to participate in the 4th edition of the Composition Competition organized as part of the ArteFonie Music Festival.

The aim of the competition is to promote works of Polish composers, to develop and popularize choral singing, and to expand choral literature with new compositions.

During this year's edition, composers will be challenged to create a piece intended for a children's choir, either a cappella or with piano accompaniment. As this year's ArteFonie Festival title is "Labyrinth of Chaos and Harmony", Marta Jundziłł – the author of the text to which the competition works will be set – has referenced the main theme by addressing the search for harmony in the chaos of everyday life.

Writing works for children might seem like an easy task. On the contrary, when creating for such an ensemble, one must be aware of the vocal capabilities of young performers, to which the difficulty level of the composition should be adapted.

The deadline for submitting works is the 15th of July, 2024.

The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of 4,000 PLN, and their composition will be included in the Virtual Library of the Art’n’Voices Vocal Ensemble.
