On an October night, as we enter a new season and symbolically shift towards winter, Hashtag Lab invites you to the premiere of the latest works by Polish composers. On October 26, 2024, at 7:00 PM, the artists of Hashtag Ensemble and Match Match Ensemble will present for the first time Luminous Gardens by Andrzej Karałów and några dagar på flodstranden by Aleksander Kościów.
In light of the changing times, climate disaster, anxieties, and mental health issues, the organizers invite you to listen attentively to new music and reflect on questions such as: is there any sense in rushing, where are we heading, and will we still hear something and someone more attentively before the end of times?
The pieces commissioned from Aleksander Kościów and Andrzej Karałów as part of the "Composers’ Commissions" program utilize the sonic possibilities of a 16-member vocal ensemble, where each voice has a separate part.
The program will also feature Inana descending - a spatial composition created using ambisonic technology by Polish composer Ewa Trębacz, who lives and works in Seattle. Additionally, there will be an "instruction" for attentive listening and complete relaxation—Deep relaxation, composed by Mikołaj Laskowski.
The event is co-funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the "Music" program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance. It is also supported by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund - a state special-purpose fund, as part of the "Composers’ Commissions" program, executed by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
The Hashtag Lab Contemporary Music Space is co-financed by the Capital City of Warsaw.
