As part of the "Conductor-in-Residence" program implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance, the Płock Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Justyna Chmielek-Korbut. The concert will take place on November 22, 2024, at 7:00 PM in the concert hall of the Płock Music School (Kolegialna 23).
The program will include the Overture to the opera “Kalmora” by Karol Kurpiński, Symphony No. 4 in A major "Italian" by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, and the Cello Concerto by Romuald Twardowski, the composer and pedagogue who passed away this year. The soloist will be cellist Monika Würsten. She studied at the Musikschule Konservatorium Bern in Denis Severin's class and at the Academy of Music in Cracow in the cello class of Jan Kalinowski. Together with her piano trio, she won second prize at the II International Online Instrumental Performance Competition in Toronto.
The concert is co-organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance as part of the "Conductor-in-Residence" program, funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
