On October 24 and November 7, 2025, the Dysharmonia Foundation will host two contemporary music concerts in Wrocław, focusing on the diverse possibilities of the accordion — from intimate chamber dialogues to multimedia sound experiments. The events will take place at the Pan Tadeusz Museum and Toy Piano Gallery.
The first concert, on October 24 at the Pan Tadeusz Museum, will feature a duo recital by accordionists Maciej Frąckiewicz and Rafał Łuc. The program will include works from their 2020 album Dualabilis, which showcases contemporary Polish music for two accordions, as well as a specially arranged version of Paweł Szymański’s Four Hewelian Dances. Other featured composers include Mikołaj Majkusiak, Tomasz J. Opałka, Krzysztof Baculewski, and Andrzej Krzanowski, demonstrating the rich sonic spectrum of the modern accordion.
The second concert, on November 7 at the Toy Piano Gallery, will present the Duo van Vliet — Rafał Zalech (viola) and Rafał Łuc (accordion) — joined by Marta Śniady (electronics). The program features works by Nina Møller Jørgensen, James Black, Marta Śniady, and Matthias Kranebitter, including three Polish premieres and the Wrocław premiere of HEL by James Black. In Śniady’s Body X Ultra – Artificial Nature, uniquely crafted glass instruments by Kalina Bańka-Kulka will be used, creating an immersive space of sound, image, and physical material.
The concerts are co-financed by the Municipality of Wrocław and the ZAiKS Authors’ Association.
