The 15th edition of the Polish music community’s award, the "Coryphaeus of Polish Music," is now underway. Nominations for the award can be submitted until September 25, 2025, via the website https://koryfeusz.org.pl/ in the categories of "Personality of the Year," "Event of the Year," and "Honorary Award," as well as "Discovery of the Year" for debuting artists. Submissions may be made by individuals involved in Poland's musical life.
Since 2011, the "Coryphaeus of Polish Music" has been awarded by the music community to its most outstanding representatives. It honors individuals, groups of artists, and institutions active in the field of Polish music in its many genres and historical forms. The award is presented to creators, performing artists, musicologists, critics, journalists, humanists, researchers, cultural animators, promoters, and managers, as well as groups of artists, institutions, artistic events, and various creative, educational, and community-based projects. The award is granted for achievements in the past artistic season — with the exception of the Honorary Award, which recognizes lifetime achievement.
Winners in all categories are selected through a secret ballot by the Elector College. The winner of the "Discovery of the Year" category is chosen through both public voting and the Elector College's decision. The Elector College is composed of rectors of music universities, directors of musicology and music institutes, journalists from music-focused media, representatives of industry unions and organizations, and all previous award winners in every category.
Voting will take place from October 6 to 13.
The public will be able to cast their votes on the website: https://koryfeusz.org.pl/
The winners will be announced during a ceremonial gala on November 3, 2025, at the Warsaw Philharmonic. The laureates will receive statuettes designed by Professor Adam Myjak, whose work is now continued by his son, Aleksander.
The award is organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance. The project is financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
The application form, regulations, and all details regarding the award are available on the website: https://koryfeusz.org.pl/
