"Elements – Earth, Air, Fire, Water" Concert: World premieres at the Sudeten Philharmonic

During the concert "Elements – Earth, Air, Fire, Water" at the Sudeten Philharmonic on January 10, 2025, at 7:00 PM, the world premieres of four recent compositions by the faculty members of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław – Katarzyna Dziewiątkowska, Adam Porębski, Ignacy Wojciechowski, and Michał Ziółkowski – will be presented, all inspired by the elements.

Each work uniquely references one of the elements.

Adam Porębski, inspired by the element of Earth, composed the piece … ad infinitum for choir and symphony orchestra (using texts from the Old and New Testament). "I will tell about the very beginning of the existence of the world and also of man," announces the composer. In Ignacy Wojciechowski's poem through & beyond for choir and symphony orchestra (using words from the Old Testament: the Book of Genesis), air is a metaphor for the breath of life with which God endows the new creature – man. The five-part work Ignis by Katarzyna Dziewiątkowska represents fire, while Riverborn by Michał Ziółkowski depicts water.

The works will be performed by the Feichtinum Choir of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław and the Symphonic Orchestra of the Sudeten Philharmonic under the baton of Artur Wróbel.

Before the concert begins, attendees will have the opportunity to admire works by Wrocław visual artists, also inspired by the forces of nature.
