A summer Sunday is the perfect time for the family improvisation workshops "Tell Me a Story", organized by the Polish Society for Contemporary Music. The event will take place on July 12, 2026, at 12.30 pm at the "Kolorowa" Culture Center (Centrum Kultury Ursus) at 16 gen. K. Sosnkowskiego Street. The event will be led by talented musicians: percussionist Ryszard Bazarnik, composer and pianist Jarosław Siwiński, and double bassist Małgorzata Kołcz. Admission is free, but places are limited.
The program includes plenty of music, improvisation, as well as smart, educational play with sounds and books. Participants will, among other things, explore various techniques of producing sound from instruments to highlight their tonal and dynamic qualities. Children will also have the chance to play various percussion instruments themselves.
The workshops are dedicated to children aged 3–10, including young music lovers with special needs, and their parents. The session lasts approximately 90 minutes, including a short break.
The core idea behind the workshops is to combine graphic-inspired improvisations: first literary, and then musical. Children will create their own stories based on the presented picture books.
Participation in the workshops is free, but space is limited - it is necessary to register in advance via the form below:
