On 12 December 2025, the final concert of this year’s Strings Festival Zielona Góra will take place at the Zielona Góra Philharmonic. Performing with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Paweł Kos-Nowicki will be violinist Robert Bachara, cellist Michał Pepol, and pianist Mateusz Zubik.
The concert will open with Little Overture by Wojciech Kilar, for which he received Second Prize at the Competition of Symphonic Works during the 5th Youth Festival in Warsaw. It was his first work published by the Polish Music Publishing House. This nearly six-minute neoclassical piece showcases the future master of symphonic and film music’s excellent command of orchestral instrumentation and colour.
Next, the audience will hear the Carmen Suites—instrumental arrangements of the most beautiful fragments of Georges Bizet’s opera. The selection of the most interesting excerpts and the arrangement into suite form were carried out by the composer’s friend, Ernest Guiraud.
The concert will conclude with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Concerto in C major for piano, violin, and cello, Op. 56.
