The Sunday evening of August 10, 2025, at 7:00 PM, at the Oblate Centre for Education and Culture in Gdańsk (9/10 Elżbietańska Street) will be a moving encounter with history – told through the voice of an artist who has delighted audiences for four decades with his interpretation of classical and popular music.
The title of the concert refers to a well-known tango from the repertoire of Marta Mirska and Mieczysław Fogg, which has become a symbol of memories connecting generations.
As the jubilarian emphasizes:
“This concert is an expression of gratitude – to the audience, my teachers, and the artistic companions along the way. [...] In an atmosphere of elegance and sentimental reflection, we will return to the world of old melodies – those that touch the heart and recall the most beautiful moments.”
Dariusz Wójcik, together with his ensemble, will perform Polish tangos, waltzes, and romances from the golden era of Polish song, in stylish arrangements by Rafał Lewandowski.
He will be accompanied by:
– the arranger himself,
– violinist Katarzyna Rogalska,
– and saxophonist Przemysław Skałuba.
The program will include gems of Polish music from the interwar period and early years of the People’s Republic of Poland, including works from the repertoire of Mieczysław Fogg, Tola Mankiewiczówna, and Adam Aston, with music by Henryk Hubertus Jabłoński, Henryk Wars, Jerzy Petersburski, Artur Gold, Bronisław Horowicz, Zygmunt Białostocki, and Szymon Kataszek.
The concert will also be enriched by love-themed poems written by members of the senior community in Gdańsk, as well as by the jubilarian himself.
The concert will be hosted by Stanisława Grażyńska – longtime music journalist at Radio Gdańsk, a master of the spoken word and stage elegance.
