The Pasdeloup Orchestra Under the baton of Marzena Diakun, a strong advocate for contemporary music, will present for the first time in France the Overture by Elżbieta Sikora, which premiered in Poland in March 2024. The concert will take place on February 1, 2025, at 16:00 at La Seine Musicale in Paris.
The Overture was commissioned by the Zielona Góra Philharmonic as part of the "Composer Commissions" program, organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance. It was also the opening piece of the third "Month of Women" Festival, performed by the Zielona Góra Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of a woman, Anna Sułkowska-Migoń.
The concert program will also include works by Ludwig van Beethoven: the Fourth Piano Concerto and the Seventh Symphony, which Richard Wagner referred to as the "apotheosis of dance." The soloist will be the Ossetian pianist Zlata Chochieva.
