The final Hashtag Ensemble concert of the year at Warsaw’s Hashtag Lab will take place on 15 November 2025 at 7:00 p.m. The evening will feature two world premieres.
A weave of anxiety for the Earth and longing for the pure force of nature inspired the creation of a programme in which the space of sound and image reflects the fragility of the world around us, yet does not extinguish hope for renewal.
In Coal by Aleksandra Kaca, a sonic image of blackness becomes a story about the tension between destruction and light. In Aether by Wojciech Błażejczyk, invisible electromagnetic waves transform into a soundscape that makes us aware of the omnipresence of technological pollution. In green&blue dreamin’, Katarzyna Krzewińska confronts us with the dissonance between urban noise and the need for contact with nature — juxtaposing field recordings with performative gestures of musicians touching branches, water, or flowers.
The two world premieres of the evening — Ashes on my tongue by Jeanne Artemis and Screaming Flesh by Aled Smith — pose a direct question about the future of the planet. Aled Smith’s work was funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Fund for the Promotion of Culture under the “Composers’ Commissions” programme carried out by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
The activities of the Hashtag Lab Contemporary Music Space are co-financed by the City of Warsaw.
