Hashtag Ensemble to premiere Ewa Trębacz's "Seulete Suy (Alone am I)" at the "June Concerts on the Roof"

During the "June Concerts on the Roof" at Warsaw's Hashtag Lab on June 20, 2026 at 8.00 pm, the sounds of the city will blend with music. The outstanding Hashtag Ensemble will premiere Ewa Trębacz’s Seulete Suy (Alone am I) during a concert titled "A Garden Enclosed, a Garden Open".

The world premiere of the evening is a piece in which, as the US-based composer describes, "isolated elements of reality are magnified, fragmented, and layered. A garden enclosed—a space of introspection, but also of loneliness and an obsessive return to detail—gradually opens up, and sound, embodied in the voice and instruments, enters into relationships with the surroundings: with the air, space, and the audience". Ewa Trębacz composed her piece as part of the "Composers' Commissions" program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

In Hypnosis by Paweł Janas, a member of the Hashtag Ensemble, repetition leads towards a trance, drawing the listeners in and engulfing them.

The tension between repetitiveness and building intensity will also be heard in works by Bobby Ge, Michael Gordon, and Bára Gísladóttir.

The "A Garden Enclosed, a Garden Open" concert will serve as a prologue to this year's AżTak Festival, which will take a closer look at human obsessions.
