The Polish Society for Contemporary Music (PTMW) is organizing the National Jury, which will select six works to be recommended by the Polish Section of ISCM for the ISCM World New Music Days Festival, to be held in Bucharest, Romania, from May 23 to 31, 2026. The application deadline is September 10, 2025.
The main theme of the festival—on which the Jury will place particular emphasis—is a tribute to the memory of the renowned Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuși, whose 150th birthday anniversary falls in 2026. His work Coloana Infinitului (Endless Column) is considered a symbol of innovation.
Since 2011, each national section is guaranteed the performance of at least one work out of six submitted, provided that exactly six works are submitted in at least four different categories and that they meet all formal requirements of the festival regulations.
This call for works is open to all Polish composers, regardless of their current country of residence, as well as to foreign composers currently residing in Poland. In addition, young composers (under the age of 35) whose pieces are selected for performance at WNMD may also qualify for the ISCM Young Composer Award.
According to the rules of the festival organizers, the recommended duration of submitted compositions should correspond to the time limits assigned to each of the 14 categories. Works up to 10 minutes long are preferred.
Works composed within the last 10 years are eligible, with the highest priority given to compositions written in the past 5 years.
The works selected by the National Juries of the individual ISCM sections will then be evaluated by the international Jury in Romania.
