On October 20, Janusz Olejniczak, one of the most outstanding Polish pianists, passed away. He was an artist of exceptional sensitivity, which was evident in every note he played, especially in the music of Chopin. He did not shy away from contemporary music; on September 1, at the "Chopin and His Europe" festival, he was the soloist in the world premiere of Jerzy Maksymiuk's Piano Concerto, performed with the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra under the direction of the composer. Without him, the world of sound will truly be poorer.
May he rest in peace.
